| Message: | My 1982 911SC stopped running with a silent finality last autumn and I have yet to get it started. I was pulling out of a parking lot, about to accelerate to join traffic, when it simply stopped running. I'm convinced it is something simple, but am out of my experience level at this point. I have owned the car for 6 years, driving about 10,000 miles during that time. With the exception of a dirty injector problem after running the fuel tank a bit low, it has run well during my time with it. I've got spark! I have checked the ignition system - The CDS unit sings with the ignition on, and I have spark off the coil wire when bridged to earth. I had a spare rotor and cap (from ts during fuel injector problem) and replaced those. No change. The distributor is turning. I got gas! I have fuel to the injectors as determined by feel, sound, sight and smell. The O2 sensor is disconnected. I remember someone saying something about the O2 sensor relay, but I don't recall specifically what. I'm using the Haynes Porsche 911 manual. It covers 24 model years. The information seems accurate, but I think I have exhausted it as a resource for me. Any ideas on next troubleshooting steps out there amongst the more experienced DIY crowd? | ||||
