| Message: | Check the alternator. It's a major problem with all 928's. I've installed 3 thus far....All with VERY SIMILAR problems that you speak of. Headlights dim after 20 minutes, not charging, dashlights go bonkers, alarms going off.....etc etc....Also, replaced 2 new batteries!!! Learn from my mistake: DO NOT BUY REBUILT ALTERNATORS!!!! And try to get an original Bosch (NEW). The Paris Rhone's are OK, too. Just as long as they are new. All 3 rebuilt alt's were absolute garbage! Bad parts, crappy components, USED DIODES....etc etc...What a disgrace. I finally took it to an electrical/wire-specialist, he knew right away, where to look for the problem! He took the alternator apart, and started to laugh! He even found parts that had been sandblasted, just to make the parts look new!!!!! SANDBLASTED!!!!! For crying out loud!!!! Not only was I disgusted, but, VERY angry! I almost took the last alternator and was tempted to smash it upside the guy's head who rebuilt it! Chris | ||||
